Circle Time Storytime: Mini Hands, Many Ideas
Ages 3, 4 and 5
Circle Time provides children with an opportunity to develop a variety of skills such as interacting with others, sharing, taking turns, and expressing feelings. Children can also learn to pay attention, to listen and follow instructions, and to make decisions.
Outreach/Class visits
To encourage a life-long love of books and The Outreach Program promotes early literacy in young children by bringing the library to area preschools and daycares. The program encourages appreciation and raises interest in the written word by introducing pre-reading skills in a fun storytime environment. Our storytimes utilize age appropriate books, songs, finger plays, and flannel stories.
Our 20 minute programs are geared toward preschoolers and help children understand what eventually they will read on their own! Currently we provide service to 34 area daycares and preschools, reaching approximately 30% of community's children under age five.
